Mischivous Thinking -- October 2019

Teddy was eating dinner and waited for James to get there. They were going to think up some pranks for... er... a certain SLytherin boy who really ticked them both off way too much.

"Hey, Ted," James said, sitting down and pulling some food towards his plate. He started piling all sorts of things onto it and began eating rather piggish. He took a swig of pumkin juice and sighed. "OK, so what are we going to do?"

Teddy was slightly appalled by the way that James was eating, but looked past that when James asked the only question that mattered. "Hmm... well, we already know who we're going to prank -- Malfoy. But what to do... There are various options," he said, smiling evilly.

James smiled evilly as well. "Well," he started, "there's always Levicorpusor something like that. Or we could always curse him some other way."

Teddy nodded, thinking. "Levicorpus would work quite nicely. And then we could do so much more..."

"We could do sooo much more," James said excitedly. He shoved more food into his mouth and chewed, thinking.

Teddy took James' silence to take a bite of his food. He then took a swig of pumkin juice. "Well, do we want to leave it at Levicorpus for now?"

James nodded. "Sounds good. So... how are things going with you and Victoire? I know that you two have been snogging nonstop for quite some time... but I mean other than that."

"What's it to you what Victoire and I are up to?" Teddy asked defensively.

"I was just asking how things were going, not what you two were up to! Geez," James said, sighing, "you should listen a lot better..."

"Oh," Teddy said stupidly. "Er... James, this has nothing to do with Victoire and me... it's something else that has been bothering me. A lot. Can I trust you to keep a secret?"

"Of course you can. What's up?" James asked seriously. When Teddy looked like he did, James knew that there was something wrong.

"James... I found something out over the summer..."

James waited patiently for Teddy to gather his thoughts.

"You know how my... my... my dad was a werewolf?" he asked, stumblign over the word dad because he hasnt' gotten over it yet.

James nodded, wondering where this was going. He didn't like to see the pain in Teddy's eyes whenever he mentioned Remus Lupin.

"Well, I think I got something from him. I think I'm a werewolf, James," Teddy said quietly.

James' jaw dropped. "What?" he asked quietly, knowing it wouldn't help if he raised his voice. "That's ridiculous. You've never turned into a werewolf on a full moon..."

"Well, no" Teddy replied. "But when I get pissed... I start changing. I've had to run out of the room at the Weasley's because Bill made me really mad. I just entered the bathroom and camled down... but sometimes I can't control it like that. I've changed before."

"Bloody hell," James said. "This is... interesting. Thanks for warning me" he said trying to lighten teh mood.

"James..." Teddy said. "I'm scared, though. I've got no one to talk to about this... I mean there's you... but no adult or anything."

"I'm sure you can talk to my dad," James suggested. "He'd be able to help you out..."

Teddy shrugged. "I'm sure I can... but I wish I had more of a fatherly figure. Every guy in my life is just a friend. I mean, Harry's great, but he's only seventeen-ish years older than me or something like that. He's not a father to me."

James nodded; he understood. "Teddy... maybe you can talk to one of the professors?"

Teddy shook his head. "I can't do that... I don't trust any of them."
